An unlikely political figure, awkward in long glasses, cap and baggy jeans, Michael Moore is America's most fearless commentator and populist politics. Policy Moore is home grown. Born in Flint, a city then dominated by General Motors, he saw his father and grandfather Irish earn their living in factories, and then as a city of men like them, was fired as GM moved to of cheaper labor pools in Mexico. The town was left destitute as GM and fattened its profits to shareholders.
Moore's lust to reveal cooperate injustice and crime began when he was an Eagle Scout and has a slide show that details all the companies that polluted Flint. At 18, Moore won a seat on the Flint school, making it one of the young United States to hold public office.
Preferring activism to study, Moore became a journalist about the "voice of Flint, and eventually became editor and expanded role in the" Voice of Michigan. French writer graduated from the publisher of "Mother Jones" magazine left politics in 1986, many of the arguments often in collaboration with the editors a short circuit.
Moore used his settlement money "Mother Jones" as the seed of "Roger & Me" - a documentary film describing GM's part of the economic collapse of Flint. Moore then dabbled in television, but did not get his ratings up, so, in 1996 wrote "The downsizing" - a political comment. It 'was a best seller. Since then, Moore has continued to write and acclaimed documentaries - 'Bowling for Columbine (2002) won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
Moore is a fierce and very public criticism of George W. Bush and U.S. administratiion the invasion of Iraq. His powerful documentary "Fahrenheit 9 / 11", an attack on Bush's ability to launch in the U.S., became a blockbuster worldwide, making it the largest grossing documentary of all time.
